TotalBoat JD Select Water-Based Ablative Bottom Paint protects sailboats and power boats in fresh and salt water, handling low-to-moderate fouling conditions with 25.5% cuprous oxide (copper) biocide. Use on fiberglass, wood, and steel hulls to help prevent barnacles, slime, weeds, algae, zebra mussels, and other fouling organisms from slowing you down. The self-polishing ablative formula gradually wears away to continuously expose fresh biocide as your boat moves through the water, while reducing paint build-up for easier prep and repainting next season. Ideal for boatyards and waters with environmental restrictions, this low-VOC, water-based bottom paint has no harsh solvent fumes and cleans up easily with soap and water.

Apply with a chip or foam brush, 3/16"" nap roller, or spray equipment over properly prepared surfaces, including most existing hard and ablative bottom paints in good condition. Do not use on aluminum or over thin-film freshwater paints. For maximum adhesion and to help protect blistering or corrosion, prime bare surfaces first with TotalProtect Epoxy Barrier Coat. Apply in temperatures between 50-90°F with humidity below 90%. Most boats need only 1-2 coats, with an extra coat recommended on high-wear areas such as skegs and leading keel edges. Thin up to 10% with water if needed. Launch 6-16 hours after the final coat, depending on temperature, with no maximum launch window so you can paint on your schedule. For racing sailboats and high-performance power boats, burnish the cured finish smooth for added speed and improved fuel efficiency.

Available in Black, Blue, Green, and Red in Quart and Gallon sizes. Covers up to 500 sq. ft. per gallon. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area and protect from freezing. For below-the-waterline antifouling use only. Not intended for aluminum hulls, household use, or marine topside applications.
